Partnership Advantages

Why Partner with the Guard?

Today's Army National Guard values education and fully understands that an educated force is a more ready force. This is evidenced by the fact that the Guard has linked education to promotions and has invested in the most comprehensive package of education benefits available in our armed services today. Reasons to consider partnering with the National Guard include:

Attract Students with $ for College.

Guard members are eligible for a host of education benefits. They include the GI Bill as well as other federal tuition assistance programs. Additionally, many states have tuition assistance/waiver programs offering up to 100% tuition to Guard members.

Increase your Enrollment.

The Army National Guard is over 350,000 members strong, located in all 54 states and territories. All recruits today are high school graduates and approximately 76% join the Guard for the education benefits. Recruits and career soldiers understand that higher education is the key to advancement in the Guard as it is in the broader society.

Publicize your Academic Programs.

Developing a relationship with the Guard in your state can gain exposure for your programs. Many SOC members provide Guard recruiters with view book and admissions applications to distribute as they counsel prospective recruits.

Invest in your Community, State, and Nation.

The Guard is the only military service that has a state mission, assisting in times of natural disasters and emergencies such as floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. A partnership with the Guard strengthens the community, the state and our national defense.
