SOCGuard Outreach Activities
SOCGuard supports ARNG Education Services Officers by conducting
a variety of outreach activities with higher education institutions
and the Guard. Outreach greatly expands education opportunities
for Guard soldiers and helps to bridge administrative gaps between
the institutions and the Guard. It also offers exposure for an
institution's academic programs and the potential for increased
enrollments and revenues. Outreach activities include:
- Workshops
- To acquaint state ESOs and recruiters with colleges in the
state
- To promote academic partnerships
- To address specific issues and concerns (i.e. education benefits,
credit transfer, activation and mobilization)
- Campus Visits
- Informal office briefings with faculty and staff
- Increase visibility for Guard ESOs and state/federal education
programs
- Help to lay a foundation for future academic partnerships
- Higher Education Conferences
- Attend and exhibit at regional and national meetings
- Stimulate college interest in working with the Army National
Guard
- Demonstrate support for Guard education programs
